Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN SATU Tulungagung Holds National Seminar: Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Presents Cross-Sectoral Development Risk Management Strategy

The Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI) UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung successfully held a National Seminar with the theme “Cross-Sectoral National/Regional Development Risk Management” in the 3rd Floor Hall of the UIN SATU Tulungagung Rectorate Building. This event featured national resource person Dr. Ir. Sugeng Santoso, MT, QRGP, CGRE, Expert Staff to the Minister for Maritime Economics at the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

The event, which took place from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Western Indonesian Time (WIB), was attended by approximately 40 lecturers and leaders of FEBI UIN SATU Tulungagung, as well as student representatives. In his remarks, the Chair of the Committee stated that this seminar demonstrated FEBI’s commitment to continuously providing a space for academic dialogue relevant to the direction of national development policies. Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEBI) emphasized that this activity was a crucial opportunity to strengthen institutional networks between academia and government.

In his presentation, Dr. Sugeng Santoso comprehensively explained the direction of the National Development Risk Management (MRPN) policy, which is now a key part of the 2025–2029 National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN). He emphasized that MRPN is a strategic instrument to ensure that every national and regional development program is adaptive to risks, including in the food sector, maritime economy, and environmental resilience.

Furthermore, the speaker also outlined the implementation of the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperative (KDMP/KKMP) policy, as stipulated in Presidential Instruction Number 9 of 2025 and Presidential Instruction Number 17 of 2025. He stated that cross-sector collaboration is key to creating resilient and inclusive national development.

The discussion session was lively and interactive. Participants asked a variety of questions regarding the implementation of MRPN at the regional level, opportunities for collaborative research, and the relevance of risk policies to the development of the Islamic economy. The enthusiasm of the participants demonstrated the academic community’s strong commitment to issues of integrated and sustainable national development.

Through this activity, the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEBI) of UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung reaffirmed its commitment to being a strategic partner of the government in developing academic studies based on risk governance, food security, and sustainable development. This seminar is also expected to be the first step towards a policy research collaboration between FEBI and the Coordinating Ministry for Food Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

“The involvement of universities is crucial in strengthening public policy capacity. Synergy between academia and the government is key to creating resilient and inclusive development,” said Dr. Sugeng in his presentation.

The seminar concluded with the presentation of souvenirs to the speakers and a group photo session. The entire event ran smoothly, filled with enthusiasm, and left a lasting impression on all participants.
