
Tulungagung, October 22, 2024 — The Sharia Banking Study Program of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business (FEBI), UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung, successfully held the Digital Innovation Moneytalk (DIGIMON) Webinar with the theme “The Urgency of Sharia Banking Digitalization in Sharia Economy Transformation.”
The webinar, held on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, featured two distinguished speakers in the field of Islamic economics and banking: Prof. Dr. Anwar M. Radiamoda, SCL., Ph.D, from Mindanao State University, Philippines, and Dr. Hj. Chusnul Chotimah, M.Ag, Dean of the Faculty of Islamic Economics and Business, UIN SATU Tulungagung.
In her opening remarks, Dr. Hj. Chusnul Chotimah emphasized that this event is part of the academic efforts to deepen students’ understanding of the challenges and opportunities in the digitalization of Islamic finance. “Digital transformation is not just a necessity, but an inevitability for the sustainability and competitiveness of Sharia banking in the future,” she stated.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Anwar M. Radiamoda highlighted the importance of strengthening digital infrastructure and fostering cross-border collaboration to support inclusive Sharia-based financial services. He also underlined that digitalization must uphold the ethical values and justice that form the foundation of Islamic economics.
The webinar was attended by students of the Sharia Banking program at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah Tulungagung along with public participants, all of whom actively engaged in the discussion. The Q&A session was lively, reflecting strong interest in the topic of Sharia banking digitalization from both a global and national perspective.
